Be a part of the PACE family!
If you are interested in enrolling in the PACE program, please follow the below steps for more information and to apply.
Step 1: Attend Information Night / Open House – A meeting with information about our PACE program, sharing experiences from current PACE families and Q&A.
We invite you to the PACE Information Night. You will hear about PACE and the application process for inclusion into the upcoming school year program.
Get your questions answered: When is registration? What are the required classroom tours? What are the fees to join? Is there a fundraising obligation? How much time do parents have to volunteer in the classroom? How does bussing work for students outside of the Lockwood zone? How do waivers into Lockwood work? How is the PACE experience different for my child than a regular neighborhood classroom? What enrichments are offered to my child in PACE? Are siblings guaranteed in?
While attendance at the PACE Info night is not mandatory (unlike the Classroom Tour), it is highly recommended–mainly for your clarity.

What Happens Next?
Placement for both openings and our waitlist is determined in a blind lottery in late winter. There is no way to predict when an opening may come up, so patience is appreciated for all those on the waitlist.
How do the waitlists work?
Applications are sorted into three piles:
1) SIBLING POOL – Those with siblings currently enrolled in PACE,
2) ALUMNI POOL –Those with siblings who have been in PACE, but are not currently enrolled, and
3) GENERAL POOL – All other applications. Priority for any open spots goes first to the Sibling Pool, followed by the Alumni Pool, and finally to the General Pool. As spots open up in any class, names are pulled (in a blind lottery) from those pools in order of priority. Once your child is enrolled, they automatically graduate into a position in the next year of PACE.
For 1st Grade class:
Applicants will be added to the 2025 -2026 1st Grade class and waitlist based on a lottery. There might be anywhere from 0-12 spots taken by students in the Siblings/Alumni Pools before anyone from the General Pool is selected–it fluctuates wildly from year to year. Often 1-3 spots open up in each subsequent grade (due to such things as families moving out of district, or class sizes expanding slightly in the older classes).
For 2nd Grade – 5th Grade class:
Applicants who are already on the 2024-2025 waitlist will be transferred to the new 2025-2026 waitlist,
retaining their current priorities. New applicants are added to the bottom of the 2025-2026 waitlist based on a lottery.
